What is Ultralytic topical?

Ultralytic (for the skin) is a combination medicine that is used to treat rough or scaly skin and soften cracked skin or calluses.

Before taking this medicine

You should not use Ultralytic if you have ever had an allergic reaction to ammonium lactate or urea.

Ask a doctor or pharmacist if this medicine is safe to use if you have ever had an allergy to food, medicine, dyes, or preservatives.

Ask a doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How should I use Ultralytic?

Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.

Do not take by mouth. Topical medicine is for use only on the skin.

Apply only a thin film to the affected skin. For best results, apply this medicine right after a bath or shower, while your skin is still damp. You may cover the treated skin with a bandage or gauze.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Apply the medicine as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not apply two doses at one time.

Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222.

What should I avoid while using Ultralytic?

Avoid using Ultralytic on open wounds or burns, or on skin that is sensitive, irritated, or infected.

Avoid getting the medicine in your eyes, nose, mouth, or on your lips. If this does happen, rinse with water.

Avoid using other medications on the areas you treat with Ultralytic, unless your doctor tells you to.

What other drugs will affect Ultralytic?

Medicine used on the skin is not likely to be affected by other drugs you use. But many drugs can interact with each other. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all medicines you use, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.
